The construction is hot-dip galvanized, meaning the steel components have been dipped in molten zinc – a process that creates a strong, all-around protective layer against rust. Thus, even this small jockey wheel can withstand rain, mud, and moisture without quickly corroding. Its tube diameter is Ø35 mm, which is smaller than the standard 48 mm on heavier-duty models; accordingly, you’ll need a Ø35 mm clamp (a small clamp) to mount it on your trailer. Whether the clamp has a lever or screw mechanism, it will allow you to set the desired height of the wheel and lock it securely in place.

The wheel is fitted with a 160x40 mm solid tire. This tire is made of a solid material (typically rubber or polyurethane) and requires no inflation or maintenance. Because it’s smaller, it’s best suited for use on hard, even surfaces – asphalt, concrete, or packed ground. On such surfaces, the small diameter is not an issue and the wheel rolls smoothly. On very rough terrain or soft sand, of course, the small wheel will sink more and require greater effort to move, but with a very light trailer this is rarely a serious problem.

Guidelines & safety: To get the best performance from this jockey wheel, ensure that your trailer’s tongue weight does not exceed 75 kg – exceeding the load can cause the wheel to wear out prematurely or make maneuvering difficult. Always tighten the wheel’s clamp securely to prevent the jack tube from slipping under load. If the clamp has a safety notch or pin, use it to lock the wheel at the set height to avoid any unintended drop. When stowing the trailer, you may raise the wheel to the highest position or remove it if there’s a risk of it hitting the ground (for trailers with very low clearance). Thanks to its low weight, this wheel can be taken off and stored with ease if needed.
