Triangular reflectors are a mandatory component of any trailer attached to a road vehicle. They serve as passive lights – they don’t emit light but strongly reflect the headlights of other cars, signaling the outline of your trailer. The Red Triangular Trailer Reflector mounts at the rear (usually low on the left and right sides) and complements the main tail lights. If your trailer is parked in an unlit area or in an emergency situation on the roadside, these reflectors can be lifesaving by warning oncoming vehicles in time.
Our reflector is made to standard sizes and specifications, meaning it can replace or supplement the existing reflectors on almost any trailer brand. The bright red color and prismatic reflective texture are optimized for maximum visibility. Installation is very simple – use screws or rivets to attach it securely to a flat surface on your trailer (e.g., a mudguard, rear frame or panel). Each reflector is lightweight and slim, so it won’t interfere with aerodynamics or the appearance of your trailer.
- Compatibility & Versatility: Suitable for all types of trailers, caravans, boat trailers, campers, etc. It can be used as a spare reflector to replace an old, cracked, or missing triangle. The size and spacing of the mounting holes conform to industry standards.
- Safety When Parked: When a trailer is unhitched and parked by the road, it often has no power for active lights. At those times, reflectors take on the role of making the trailer visible at night by reflecting any approaching car’s headlights.
- Regulation Compliant: The product carries the necessary certification (E-mark or equivalent) to indicate it meets legal requirements for trailer reflectors. This is important during inspections, registration, and if pulled over by authorities.
- Secure Mounting: It’s recommended to use screws with nuts or rivets for installation to prevent the reflector from falling off during travel. Periodically check that it’s tightly fastened, especially after long trips or off-road use.
- Combine with Lighting: For optimal safety, use the triangular reflectors in conjunction with functioning tail lights. Reflectors work best alongside brake and tail lamps, giving you double protection – active illumination and passive reflection.
