This impeller repair kit is designed for electric marine toilets and allows you to replace a worn or damaged pump impeller. Over time, the rubber impeller can lose flexibility, crack, or get damaged by debris, leading to weak flush water flow and added strain on the pump. Replacing it with a new impeller restores optimal flow and pressure, so your marine toilet functions properly again.
The kit also includes a replacement gasket for the pump chamber. When you disassemble the pump, the old seal often becomes deformed or torn, so the new gasket ensures a watertight fit and prevents leaks after reassembly. Installation is relatively straightforward: disconnect the toilet’s power, shut off incoming water, open the pump housing, remove the old impeller, insert the new impeller, replace the gasket, and reassemble. The whole process is quick and will greatly improve the performance of your unit.
- When to Use This Kit: If you notice a weak flush, difficulty priming the pump, or unusual noise from the toilet pump – these are signs of a worn impeller that needs replacement.
- Routine Maintenance: It’s recommended to replace the toilet’s impeller annually or approximately every 200 hours of operation. Doing so can prevent sudden failures during a voyage.
- Compatibility: The kit works with most electric marine toilets we offer, including model 02284 (standard TMC unit) and 02281 (compact unit), as well as equivalent Jabsco/TMC electric heads.
- Keep a Spare Onboard: Small and inexpensive, this impeller kit can save your trip from inconvenience. Keeping a spare impeller and gasket on hand means you can quickly fix issues instead of having an unusable toilet mid-cruise.
