This built-in tank inspection hatch assembly is a multi-function unit combining a filler cap, vent, fuel outlet, and gauge port in one. It is designed to directly fit many built-in plastic fuel tanks (such as the Italian Osculati Eltex tanks), making it an ideal replacement or upgrade when refitting your boat’s fuel system. One installation provides everything you need for safe tank access and secure fuel connections.

The filler neck features a screw-in cap with an integrated vent valve to allow the tank to breathe, preventing vacuum lock or pressure buildup during fueling and consumption. The vent connection (approximately 18 mm outer diameter) accepts standard 17–19 mm vent hoses, routing fuel vapors safely outboard through a hull fitting.

The module also includes a straight 8 mm fuel outlet barb, where your engine’s fuel line attaches. The 8 mm size is standard for most outboard and inboard engines, ensuring ample fuel flow to the motor. Additionally, a drain plug and port are provided so you can easily empty the tank for winterizing or maintenance – a convenient way to remove sediment or water from the fuel.

For fuel level monitoring, the inspection hatch has a built-in gauge port closed off by a blank cap. You can install a mechanical float fuel gauge in this port (compatible with Osculati’s gauges) to read the fuel level right on top of the tank. All components are made of high-strength fuel-resistant materials (plastic and synthetic fiber) that withstand gasoline and diesel exposure. A gasket and mounting screws are included for a secure, leak-free installation on the tank. By upgrading to this all-in-one inspection hatch, you improve your fuel system’s safety (through proper venting) and make tank maintenance and monitoring much more convenient on your boat.
