This plastic strap bridge provides a reliable tie-down point for securing straps on boat covers, canopies, and other marine canvas. Made from durable nylon plastic, it withstands heavy tension and prolonged exposure to sunlight and saltwater without cracking or degrading. Unlike metal loops, it will not corrode or scratch your boat’s finish. We offer two sizes covering the most common webbing widths used on marine covers:
- Small Size (00700-1): 27 mm inner slot, fits straps up to ~25 mm wide. Ideal for smaller boats and covers with narrow straps – e.g. canopy straps on RIB inflatables ~3–4 m or protective covers using standard 1-inch webbing. The small bridge grips the strap snugly, holding it taut and preventing it from twisting or flapping in the wind.
- Large Size (00700-2): 40 mm inner slot, designed for ~38–40 mm webbing. Suitable for larger boat canopies and tarps – e.g. covers on 5–6+ m boats that use wider, heavy-duty tie-down straps. The large bridge provides a broad support surface for the strap, allowing higher load tension and secure fastening under rough conditions.
Usage: Installation for both sizes is straightforward – each bridge features screw holes for permanent mounting. Position the bridge on the boat (e.g. on a cover frame, gunwale, or console), insert stainless screws (~4–5 mm with flat heads or washers) and tighten down. Thread your strap through the “bridge” loop; the webbing will remain firmly in place without slipping. When it’s time to remove the cover, you can quickly unthread or unbuckle the strap, while the bridge stays attached for next use. This plastic webbing bridge is an essential accessory for any bimini top or travel cover, ensuring your straps are well-managed and your boat cover stays tightly secured even in wind and motion.
