These portable fuel tanks with capacities of 12 L, 22 L, and 30 L are specifically designed for boats with outboard engines, providing a reliable fuel source without the need for a built-in tank. They are made from fire-resistant, non-flammable polyethylene, which ensures the tank will not support combustion and minimizes the risk of explosion or fire in contact with fuel. The construction is additionally reinforced – these tanks can even withstand a person standing on them (up to ~80 kg) without deforming, which is a testament to their durability under marine conditions. Each tank is CE certified and approved by an accredited body (HEEQAC) under certificate No. 503363, meaning it meets all applicable European safety requirements for carrying and storing fuel on a boat.
For user convenience, the tanks feature an integrated handle for easy carrying and secure tie-down on board. The screw-in fuel cap has a built-in air vent valve – you can close it tightly during transport or storage, and open it while the engine is running to prevent a vacuum or overpressure in the tank. This ensures a steady fuel flow to the engine and makes refilling smoother. At the bottom of each tank is a standard fuel hose connector (1/4” external thread with an 8 mm hose barb) that allows direct hookup to your engine’s fuel line – no extra adapters needed.
- 12 L tank: Compact and lightweight, suitable for small outboard engines (up to around 10 HP) and short boating trips. This size is an excellent choice for inflatable boats and small fishing vessels where space is at a premium. The 12-liter tank provides enough fuel for a few hours of engine runtime and can be easily stowed away when not in use.
- 22 L tank: The versatile mid-range option, ideal for engines in the 15–30 HP range and medium-sized boats (4–5.5 m). With 22 liters of fuel, you can confidently spend a full day on the water without refueling. The tank’s dimensions allow it to sit conveniently on the deck or transom area, and carrying it when full is still manageable thanks to the ergonomic handle.
- 30 L tank: The largest portable tank in the lineup, recommended for more powerful outboards (40+ HP) or longer excursions. A 30-liter capacity provides a substantial fuel reserve – excellent for 6–7 m RIBs, powerboats, or when you plan extended cruising. Despite its larger size, the tank is designed to remain stable on deck and can be carried by one person if needed.
All variants can be fitted with a fuel level indicator if required – the cap has a provision for installing a float gauge or electronic sender (purchased separately). This makes it easy to monitor remaining fuel directly from your boat’s dashboard. The polyethylene material is impervious to saltwater and chemically stable; it will not corrode (unlike metal cans) and eliminates the risk of rusty particles contaminating your fuel. These portable tanks are a great solution for backup fuel or as a primary fuel source on smaller vessels, providing you with peace of mind and safety during your voyages.
