Stainless Hinges 100×30 mm AISI316 – Straight and Reversed Model (2 mm Thick)

Code:
01081

Durable elongated hinges made of AISI316 stainless steel (100×30 mm) available in two versions: a standard straight model (100 mm length) and a reversed/mirrored model (106 mm length). Designed for heavy-duty applications, these hinges provide reliable support for doors and hatches, allowing installation on either the exterior or interior side of the frame. They offer superior corrosion resistance, making them ideal for marine environments and professional use on yachts and boats.

  • AISI316 Stainless Steel – marine-grade metal resists rust and saltwater corrosion
  • 100×30 mm Size – long, narrow hinge suitable for larger doors and hatches
  • Two Versions: standard 100 mm and extended 106 mm (mirrored) – for flexible mounting (left or right hinge)
  • 2 mm Thickness – solid build that withstands impact and vibration
  • Secure Support – multiple screw holes for firm attachment and sag-free opening

These elongated AISI316 stainless steel hinges (100×30 mm) are engineered for applications requiring high strength and installation flexibility. Their narrow profile (30 mm width) combined with substantial length provides a large contact area on doors and frames, distributing weight and stress to prevent warping. The inclusion of two versions – standard (100 mm) and reversed (106 mm) – means you can mount hinges on whichever side of the opening is needed or even use them in pairs to mirror each other. The reversed model is a mirror-image of the standard one, which means the screw countersinks and hole pattern are flipped. This feature is extremely useful when one hinge must be mounted on the interior side of a door and another on the exterior, maintaining symmetry and a clean look from both sides.

Crafted from 316 stainless steel, these hinges are built to last in tough conditions – from constant salt spray and humidity to extreme vibration from engines or rough seas. The polished finish helps repel water and wards off rust stains, keeping the hinges looking and functioning like new. Each hinge has a heavy-duty pin that enables smooth motion with no wobble. At 2 mm leaf thickness, these hinges can bear significant door or hatch weight without bending or loosening over time.

Installation is made easier by multiple pre-drilled holes on each leaf – allowing 4 to 6 screws per hinge for maximum holding power. It’s recommended to use stainless steel screws of appropriate size to prevent any galvanic corrosion. These hinges are suitable for a variety of hatch types: vertically hinged doors (e.g., cabin doors, head/shower doors) as well as horizontal hatches (deck lids, engine compartment covers). The availability of a mirrored version means even if your design requires an inward-opening or unusually oriented hinge, you have an option that fits perfectly.

  • 100 mm Standard Hinge (Straight): Use this for typical mounting of doors and hatches on the outside of the frame. It’s ideal for cabin entry doors, large side lockers, or even livewell lids on boats around 6–8 m. The roughly four-inch length provides stability for medium-tall doors (~50–70 cm height) without the need for additional support hinges. It’s a go-to choice for many boat builders when installing access doors that must remain firm and aligned over time.
  • 106 mm Reversed Hinge (Mirrored): This version is suitable when the hinge needs to be mounted on the inside of a door or lid. Commonly used in pairs (one outside, one inside) for double-door setups or in special installations where all screw heads must be on a certain side for aesthetic or safety reasons. It offers the same strength as the standard model, with a slightly extended length to ensure full coverage and alignment of mounting holes. We recommend the reversed hinge for heavy doors on larger yachts (~8 m and above) or for large hatches where interior mounting is desired, such as engine bay doors that open from the cockpit side.
  • Tip: For a single large door or hatch, it’s often wise to use multiple hinges to spread the load. You can use two standard hinges or a combination of standard and reversed to achieve both stability and the correct screw orientation. Ensure the hinges are perfectly aligned, especially when mixing types, to avoid any binding when opening. Periodically lubricate the hinge pins with a silicone-based lubricant to prevent squeaks and to extend their lifespan in the marine environment.
