Code:
01100-2

A set of two sizes of adjustable hook-type locking mechanisms made of stainless steel. These marine door and hatch fasteners let you pull a door or hatch cover tightly shut and can be fitted with an optional lock for added security.

  • Available Sizes: Small hook 85×24 mm and large hook 155×40 mm – choose according to your door or hatch dimensions
  • Material: Forged stainless steel (INOX) resistant to corrosion and heavy use; built for saltwater environments
  • Adjustable Tension: Features a tensioning mechanism that allows fine adjustment of clamping force – eliminates play and rattling when closed
  • Lock Option: Equipped with a pad eye/hasp where you can attach a padlock or install a built-in lock cylinder for extra security

The adjustable inox hook latches (85×24 mm and 155×40 mm) are designed to provide an exceptionally strong lock-down for various doors and lids on your boat. Made of solid stainless steel, these fasteners withstand harsh marine conditions and frequent use. Their design features a movable hook and a tension lever, allowing you to pull the door tight against its frame when latched. This removes any wiggle or play – a crucial factor when the boat is pitching and rolling.

Both sizes operate on the same principle but offer different strength and reach:

  • 85×24 mm Hook (Code 01100-1): Suited for smaller doors and hatches – for example, cabin cabinets, console access panels, or electrical box covers. Its compact size is ideal for boats around 3–5 meters, or for applications where space is limited but reliable latching is needed.
  • 155×40 mm Hook (Code 01100-2): The larger variant is intended for heavy-duty hatches and doors, such as engine compartment covers, large deck lockers, or bench-seat storage lids. It handles greater loads and provides strong clamping force – an excellent choice for boats 5–8+ meters where vibrations are stronger and panels are heavier.

Adjustability & Locking: The built-in turnbuckle/tensioner mechanism allows you to fine-tune the hook’s reach. When properly adjusted, the latch “bites” firmly, and you can tighten it further to compress a hatch gasket (if present) for a watertight seal. At the front of the latch, a hasp loop is provided, through which you can insert a padlock or locking pin if needed. This adds a secondary security layer – useful if you leave your boat unattended or want to lock valuables inside a compartment.

Installation & Use: Installation is done with stainless steel screws – one part (the hook base) mounts on the door or lid, and the mating part (catch plate/eye) mounts on the frame. To latch, the hook engages the eye and pushing down the lever pulls the lid tight. Opening is quick: lift the lever and unhook the catch to release.

Key advantages:

  • Secure, Rattle-Free Closure: Thanks to the toggle clamp design, these latches eliminate banging – doors and hatches stay noiseless even in rough seas. For example, your engine bay cover won’t slam or vibrate; it will remain firmly closed and quiet.
  • Corrosion Resistance: The entire assembly is stainless steel (marine-grade), so it won’t rust or degrade over time. This makes them perfect for permanent exterior installations (deck, gunwale, cockpit) that are constantly exposed to the elements.
  • Versatile Applications: The small model is favored for interior cabinetry, fold-down tables, or panels where a low-profile, petite latch is a plus. The large model works brilliantly for exterior hatches – for instance, securing an anchor locker lid or a large storage compartment cover.
  • Safety Underway: When properly latched with these hooks, even in heavy heeling or pounding waves, your panels will not fly open. This protects crew from loose gear and prevents compartments from flooding with seawater.
  • Extra Security: The ability to add a padlock means you can lock up, say, a cabinet with expensive navigation equipment or tools when you leave the boat. Thus, the latch doubles as a security device to deter theft and unauthorized access.
