The galvanized keel roller base is designed to provide a strong and reliable mounting point for keel rollers on your trailer frame. Made from thick, heavy-duty steel (approximately 4 mm), this U-shaped bracket is hot-dip galvanized, offering excellent protection against rust and corrosion even with constant water exposure. The base cradles the roller from both sides, forming a stable support capable of bearing the weight of the boat on its keel during transport.
Two size versions of this base are available to accommodate different roller lengths:
– Small base (code 01548): suitable for keel rollers up to about 160 mm in length (e.g., standard rollers ~120–150 mm). Ideal for smaller rollers typically used on light and medium-duty trailers.
– Large base (code 01550): suitable for longer rollers, up to approximately 200 mm length. Allows mounting of larger rollers found on heavy-duty trailers for bigger boats.
Both versions come pre-drilled with mounting holes aligned to common trailer bolt patterns, making it easy to bolt the base directly onto a crossbeam or mounting plate of the trailer. The axle (pin) holes are also standard, allowing you to use conventional keel roller shafts or bolts. It is recommended to use two bases (one pair) per roller – left and right – so that the roller is securely supported on both ends and stays firmly in place during operation.
- Secure Grip: Provides a solid hold for the keel roller, eliminating unwanted flex or movement when loading the boat
- Anti-Corrosion: Hot-dipped galvanized steel withstands constant moisture, saltwater, and road debris without rusting
- Universal Fit: Engineered to fit most trailer designs – suitable for various brands and models of boat trailers
- Easy Installation: Pre-drilled holes allow quick bolt-on attachment; no drilling or frame modifications required
- Use in Pairs: Intended to be used two at a time for one roller – sold individually, so purchase 2 pcs for a complete installation (one for each side of the roller)
