This marine toilet PVC hose is engineered to meet the challenges of onboard sanitation systems: tight quarters, sharp bends, and unpleasant odors. The PVC material is formulated with additives that block odor permeation, so you won’t get that telltale sewage smell seeping through the hose into the head compartment or cabins. The hose is extremely flexible, which is critical for installation in cramped bilge spaces – you can bend and twist it without collapse or blockage.

Key Features and Applications:

  • Odor Control: Marine sanitation hoses are notorious for eventually allowing odor to pass through their walls. This hose tackles that issue with a PVC formula that reduces porosity and does not let foul smells escape. That means less sewage odor in your bathroom locker or throughout the vessel, especially during hot summer days. (It’s still recommended to regularly flush the system with clean water and use holding tank treatments for optimal hygiene.)
  • Exceptional Flexibility: The hose is designed to be much more flexible than typical reinforced hoses, making installation easier. For example, when connecting a toilet to a tight turn or to a holding tank in a hard-to-reach spot, this hose can accommodate the bend without needing extra elbow fittings. Its minimum bend radius is very small, so it can snake through bulkhead openings and around equipment. This flexibility also helps when replacing old hoses – it can be fished through existing conduits or holes where stiffer hose might not navigate.
  • Smooth Interior Bore: The hose’s interior is glossy and smooth to prevent solid waste and paper from clinging (which can lead to buildup). This is critical for discharge lines (38 mm) where gradual narrowing from deposits can cause blockages. The slick inner surface, combined with routine flushing, will keep the full diameter clear and extend the time before any heavy cleaning or replacement is needed.
  • Right Sizes for the Whole System:
    • 19 mm (3/4"): Often used for toilet intake water (bringing in sea or fresh water to flush) in manual and electric heads. It’s also commonly employed as a vent hose for the holding tank (to allow gases to escape). The hose’s flexibility is especially handy for vent installations, which often have to snake up to a fitting on the hull or deck.
    • 25 mm (1"): Some systems and pumps (like certain macerator pumps or Y-valves) use 25 mm (1") connections. While 25 mm isn’t the most common standard in every setup, this mid-size option ensures you can outfit your entire system with one consistent hose quality rather than sourcing a different hose type for a single component.
    • 38 mm (1½"): This is the standard size for marine toilet discharge hoses from the toilet to the holding tank, as well as from the tank to the deck pump-out fitting. Our 38 mm hose fits all typical 1½" marine sanitation fittings and reliably conveys waste. Even over long runs, its flexibility simplifies routing along the hull without requiring unnecessary joints.
  • Long-Term Durability: Despite its flexibility, this hose is built for long-term use in harsh conditions. The PVC material withstands the typical chemicals used in marine sanitation (waste digestors, deodorizers, etc.). With proper care – like flushing with fresh water after outings and periodically adding environmentally friendly tank treatments – the hose will last for many seasons without hardening or cracking.
  • Installation Tips: To maximize odor resistance, try to route the hose away from significant heat sources (e.g., engines), since heat can increase any hose’s permeability to smells. Use double stainless steel clamps on each connection (especially on the 38 mm discharge lines) – this ensures no leaks or hose slippage off fittings under pressure or vibration.
