This premium deck hatch combines a sturdy aluminum construction with an elegant clear panel to provide both functionality and style to your vessel. The frame is made of anodized aluminum, giving it long-term resistance to corrosion, high rigidity, and a pleasing matte finish. The frame’s rounded corners and low profile allow the hatch to sit flush in the deck opening, reducing the chance of snagging lines or toes. Each frame comes pre-drilled for concealed mounting, so the final appearance is clean, showing only the aluminum surface.
The hatch lid is composed of thick dark-smoke acrylic glass, additionally tempered for strength and safety. This material allows sufficient light through to naturally illuminate the cabin by day, yet it’s dark enough to reduce heat and UV rays, protecting your interior and upholstery from sun damage. The hatch includes a support stay – smaller sizes may use an adjustable mechanical arm, while larger models incorporate a gas strut. This support holds the lid open, preventing it from slamming shut due to wind or boat motion, and freeing your hands when you need to pass through the opening or ventilate the cabin.
For user safety and convenience, the hatch features two locking handles. On the interior side of the lid, there are levers or similar mechanisms that you can easily unlatch to lift the hatch from inside. On the exterior (deck side), handles are also integrated into the lid, allowing you to open the hatch from outside – useful, for example, as an emergency escape or to let in fresh air while you’re on deck. When the hatch is closed, these latches clamp the lid down onto the frame, compressing the rubber seal in between. The result is a weathertight closure that keeps out rain and sea spray.
- Size 35 cm: The smallest of the series – suited for small boats (~3–5 m), used as a hatch for small forward cabins or bow compartments for ventilation and egress.
- Size 40–45 cm: Medium sizes – ideal for boats around 5–7 m, providing more light and access; often installed over the salon or sleeping area of yachts.
- Size 50–60 cm: Large hatches – designed for yachts and cruisers 8–10+ m, where they serve as main deck hatches (e.g., on the foredeck or above the master cabin) or as engine room access. The wide opening makes it easier to load equipment and doubles as an emergency exit.
- Common Features: Regardless of size, all hatches in this series share the same top-tier build – strong aluminum frame, reliable locks, and a tight seal. Choosing a size depends on your existing cutout or intended use, but in every case you gain increased cabin light, better ventilation, and a secure, dry closure in foul weather.
