This onboard waste holding tank with pump is designed to provide a clean and eco-friendly sanitation solution for your vessel. It allows you to collect toilet sewage in a closed container instead of discharging it directly overboard – a necessary feature in many harbors, marinas, and environmentally sensitive areas. The durable polyethylene body of the tank will not corrode and does not absorb odors. The available capacities of 40 L and 60 L give you flexibility depending on crew size and trip duration.
Advantages and features:
- Integrated 12V Pump: The tank comes equipped with a built-in waste evacuation pump, factory-mounted. This means to empty the tank, you simply activate a switch – the pump will push the contents out through your deck fitting to a shore pump-out station or, if offshore and regulations permit, overboard. The pump’s outlet diameter is ∅25 mm (1″) for connection to a discharge hose.
- Maintenance Safety: A manual shut-off valve is installed on the outlet, allowing you to isolate the tank when performing maintenance or removing the pump. This prevents any unwanted spillage of waste when servicing. Additionally, on the top, there is a 5-hole flange for mounting a tank level sensor – it’s pre-configured if you want to install a gauge (the sensor/probe is purchased separately). A protective guard for the sensor is also included, shielding it from direct contact with solids.
- Leak-Proof Sturdy Build: The tank is made of thick-walled polyethylene, rotationally molded in one piece (no seams) – eliminating the risk of leaks along joints. The lid/flange is gasket-sealed for an airtight closure. This ensures no odors escape into the boat’s cabin, and the contents remain securely contained even in rough seas or heeling conditions.
- Compact Form: The shape of the tanks (especially the 40L) is compact and low-profile, which simplifies installation under berths, beneath the head compartment floor, or in the engine room. With a height of about 30 cm, they can fit into shallow spaces. The 60L version is longer (65 cm length) and is suitable for larger vessels where more space is available.
- Easy Integration: The kit is designed for easy plug-and-play installation. Simply connect the inlet hose from your toilet to the tank’s intake (standard 38 mm / 1½″ barb), connect the pump’s outlet hose to your deck fitting (25 mm barb), and wire the pump to your electrical system (with appropriate fuse). The result is a fully functional waste storage system that complies with modern environmental requirements.
Options & Recommendations:
- 40 Liter Tank: Ideal for smaller boats (approximately 16–26 ft) or short weekend trips with a crew of 2–3 people. Its smaller dimensions make it easier to find space for installation. We recommend this size for boats where space is tight but you still want to add a basic holding tank system.
- 60 Liter Tank: Suitable for larger yachts (over ~26–30 ft) or longer voyages with more people on board (4–6 crew). Most modern family cruisers in the 30–40 ft range have around 60L holding capacity. Choose this larger volume if you can accommodate it, to ensure less frequent pump-outs (more autonomy during extended cruising).
With this pump-out holding tank system, your boat will be equipped to meet sanitation regulations and protect the environment. You’ll be able to dock in marinas and navigate inland waters worry-free, knowing you have a secure and convenient setup for containing and disposing of waste properly.
