Inflatable Boat Valve – Ø62mm Low-Profile Valve

Code:
02981

Ø62mm valve for inflatable boats featuring a compact build and a 90° flip-top cap. A universal model (grey color) with a two-piece screw design that ensures a secure seal. Suitable for many boat types and even soft tanks, this valve combines durability and convenience – quick to install and simple to use for inflation and deflation needs.

  • Compact design: Low-profile valve with a hinged cap that opens 90° and stays attached (won’t get lost).
  • Ø62mm standard: Fits typical valve ports (~38mm inner hole) on most inflatables; comes in a neutral grey color.
  • Reliable operation: One-way check valve for inflation and an easy deflation option by unscrewing the core.
  • Durable plastic body (marine-grade) – UV-resistant and wear-resistant for longevity.
  • Multi-purpose: Also suitable for soft tanks (fuel/water bladders) or inflatable toys requiring a 62mm diameter valve assembly.

This Ø62mm inflatable boat valve is a versatile solution that combines convenience and reliability. Its low-profile design means it sits almost flush on the boat’s tube, reducing the chance of snagging or tripping. A key feature of this model is the hinged cap – it flips open up to 90° from the base and remains attached to the valve assembly. This ensures you won’t drop or lose the cap during inflation or out on the water. The cap securely covers the valve opening when closed, protecting the valve from debris and preventing unintended air release.

The Ø62mm valve typically corresponds to an inner fabric hole of about 36–38mm, with a 62mm outer flange. These dimensions align with commonly used standard valves on many European inflatable boats. The valve is equipped with a reliable one-way diaphragm that lets you pump air in without it flowing back out. To deflate, you can unscrew the inner valve core (which is usually threaded) – once removed, the air rushes out rapidly. Some versions also allow you to press down the valve plunger for controlled deflation (similarly to a push-button valve), although the primary method on this design is via removing the core.

Manufactured from durable ABS/nylon plastic, it’s built for marine use. The grey color is chosen to match most boats aesthetically and to resist yellowing under sun exposure. Installation is straightforward: the inner part (with the one-way assembly) goes inside the tube, the outer part with the cap stays outside, and the two pieces screw together, clamping the boat’s fabric tightly in between for a leak-proof seal.

  • Use Cases: This valve is suitable for small to mid-sized inflatable boats (approx. 2.5–4+ m), especially those whose original valves are grey and of similar dimensions. It can serve as a direct replacement for valves under code EVAL 02981 or equivalent models.
  • Additional Uses: Thanks to its reliable sealing, Ø62mm valves are also often used in flexible water or fuel bladders, as well as large inflatable toys/platforms that require a secure, low-profile valve.
  • Benefits of the Hinged Cap: Besides being loss-proof, the flip cap speeds up operation – you can open or close it in one motion without needing to set the cap aside. It also usually has a snap or lock that keeps it firmly shut during use, preventing water ingress or dust contamination.
  • Operational Tips: Periodically check and clean any mesh or the valve opening under the cap (if a strainer is included) from sand and salt deposits. When folding the boat for storage, ensure the cap is closed to keep the valve internals clean and protected.
