This square deck hatch by EVAL is engineered to provide secure and convenient access to various compartments on your boat. It is molded from high-quality ABS plastic that resists ultraviolet rays and impact, ensuring the hatch maintains its strength and color even after long exposure to sunlight. The hatch lid features a special anti-slip surface (textured pattern) that allows you to step on it safely without slipping – particularly useful when the hatch is installed on a deck walkway or used as a step. All mounting screw holes are hidden beneath the closed lid, giving a clean, flush appearance and preventing ropes or feet from catching on any hardware.
The hatch opens to 180°, providing completely unobstructed access to the opening – the lid can lay flat open against the deck. A rubber gasket is integrated around the inner edge of the frame, which compresses when the hatch is closed to form a watertight seal, keeping water and dust out of the compartment below. The 37.2 x 37.2 cm model is a medium size hatch suitable for a variety of uses – for example, covering storage lockers, fuel tank fill points, bilge pump access, or electrical panels. The hatch includes a sturdy handle for lifting the lid, and the design accommodates the installation of a lock mechanism (EVAL lock part code 03367, sold separately) for added security of your valuables. It can be mounted horizontally on a deck or vertically on a bulkhead or transom, as it is designed to function reliably in either orientation. Several color options are available – white, gray, beige, or black – to match your boat’s color scheme and style.
