The hatch lid features a special anti-slip surface (textured pattern) that allows you to step on it safely without slipping – particularly useful when the hatch is installed on a deck walkway or used as a step. All mounting screw holes are hidden beneath the closed lid, giving a clean, flush appearance and preventing ropes or feet from catching on any hardware.

The hatch opens to 180°, providing completely unobstructed access to the opening – the lid can lay flat open against the deck. A rubber gasket is integrated around the inner edge of the frame, which compresses when the hatch is closed to form a watertight seal, keeping water and dust out of the compartment below.
