This product is a plastic deck fill / inlet – a universal filler neck designed to be installed on the deck of your boat, allowing you to fill your built-in fuel or water tank. The kit encompasses multiple variants (base code 03141 with sub-codes 03141-1, 03141-3, 03141-4) to offer a solution for different setups:

  • Angled Deck Fill Ø38mm (90°): Suited for tanks with a 38mm inlet. The 90-degree angled neck allows the hose to attach from the side, which is ideal when there is limited vertical clearance above the tank or when the tank’s port is on the side. (Example: code 03141-1 – 38mm, 90° elbow type.)
  • Angled Deck Fill Ø50mm (90°): A larger size to fit 50mm hose, often used for water tanks or larger fuel tanks to enable faster filling. The angled design likewise aids installation in tight compartments. (Example: code 03141-3 – 50mm, 90° elbow.)
  • (There are also straight variants and specific combinations for certain tank models – e.g., 03141-2, 03141-4 – which are straight or tailored to specific factory tanks. However, the main focus here is on the angled, universal models.)

Features & Quality: All versions are made from high-quality UV-resistant plastic (they will not crack or degrade under sun exposure). The material is compatible with fuel (petrol, diesel) and unaffected by fresh or salt water. The deck fill’s cap is threaded – it screws in securely, and the included O-ring ensures a watertight seal. This prevents fuel vapors from escaping and stops rain or seawater from entering the tank when closed.

Interchangeable Caps: The set includes two caps with clear labels – one marked “Fuel” and the other “Water.” This allows you to configure the deck fill for either application as needed – for example, if installing on a water tank, use the “Water” cap to avoid confusion. If on a fuel tank – use the “Fuel” cap. The caps are often color-coded (commonly black for Fuel, blue for Water) for even easier identification, and feature anti-drop design – some models include a retaining chain or strap so you won’t lose the cap overboard while refueling.

Installation & Dimensions: The filler neck has an external thread or a flange with holes for mounting to the deck. The cutout diameter and bolt pattern are standard for this class of deck fills, making it easy to replace an old fill or install in a new tank. During installation, use the provided gaskets – one between the flange and deck, and if a second is provided, under the retaining nut on the underside – to ensure a waterproof and secure fit. The standard cap thread sizes are: 1-1/2" internal thread for the 38mm model, and 2-3/16" for the 50mm model (i.e., the caps and openings are larger on the 50mm variant). This ensures optimal filling rate – a larger cap opening means you can use a high-flow nozzle for fuel or water without back-splashing.

Usage Recommendations: When used as a fuel deck fill, ensure your tank is properly vented (for example, via a separate vent fitting), because the fast filling through a wide neck needs the displaced air to escape freely. When used for a water tank, venting is also recommended, though the risk of foaming or overflow is lower than with fuel. Periodically clean the cap’s threads and O-ring of salt and debris to prolong the seal’s life.

With the 03141 series plastic deck fill, you get a universal, lightweight, and durable solution for refueling or filling water on your boat. Whether it’s for a small diesel tank on a sailing yacht or a larger fuel tank on a powerboat, having the right filler neck makes port refills easier and helps prevent spills on deck. The angled design especially proves its worth in cramped installations, and the included labeled caps ensure there’s no mix-up between water and fuel – a critical safety feature.
