This rail/roll-bar LED light is engineered to illuminate key areas of your boat – cockpit, boarding platform, work deck – without complicated installation. Its unique soft rubber lattice base is curved to fit snugly around cylindrical supports approximately 35 to 50 mm in diameter (common sizes for radar arches and bimini frames). A silicone grip layer on the base conforms to the tube’s surface and absorbs vibrations, keeping the light stable whether mounted on a horizontal boom or a vertical rail.
The lamp’s body is made of polished stainless steel, giving it a premium appearance and guarding against corrosion. The front lens is a durable techno-polymer (impact-resistant plastic) that is clear to maximize light output, while also resistant to UV exposure and scratching. Inside, 8 high-efficiency HD SMD LEDs produce a strong downward beam. The beam angle of about 60° directs light exactly where you need it – perfect when mounted under a boom (bimini) or on a roll bar above the cockpit, as the illumination falls onto the deck area below without blinding people around it.
This fixture accepts both 12V and 24V input, meaning it works with the electrical systems of a wide range of vessels – from small fishing boats and RIBs to larger sailing yachts. Its power consumption of around 1.3 W is extremely low for the ~220 lumen output, giving you bright light for minimal battery usage. You can comfortably leave the lamp on for extended periods (for example, during night fishing or deck work) with negligible impact on your power reserves.
Installation is designed to be as straightforward as possible: no need to drill holes or weld mounts. The package includes necessary fasteners (such as adjustable straps or clamps) that secure the light to the tube. The rubber base conforms to the curvature and provides friction so the lamp won’t slip. The entire setup can be done in minutes and is just as easily removed or relocated as needed. This is especially valuable if you prefer not to modify your boat’s structure permanently, or if you want the option to remove the light during the off-season.
With its IP65 rating, the lamp is protected against rain, sea spray, and dust. It’s well-suited for outdoor lighting – for instance, on a flybridge, around cockpit frames, or on the bow rail of a RIB. At night, this lamp can flood your cockpit with light for social gatherings or dinners on deck, or provide working illumination during maneuvers and fishing. It’s also very useful for safely boarding at night – mount it on the transom or boarding gate to light up the swim platform or aft deck for better visibility.
Usage Tips:
- Under-Boom/Bimini Mount: Use the curved base to attach the lamp under the boom or bimini top frame. This will cast even overhead lighting across the cockpit – perfect for evening dining or card games on deck.
- RIB/Radar Arch Lighting: Clamp one or two of these lights onto a roll bar or radar arch (e.g., above the helm) – one facing forward and one aft. This will nicely illuminate both the foredeck and cockpit during night operations or leisurely cruises.
- Portable Work Light: When fishing or doing boat maintenance after dark, temporarily mount the lamp on any available rail, aimed at your work area. With no drilling required, you can quickly move it wherever extra light is needed, then remove it afterward.
- RV/Campsite Light: Though designed for boats, this lamp can also attach to tubular structures on campers/RVs (like awning supports) to light up your campsite or patio area. The stainless construction withstands outdoor conditions, and the 12V compatibility means it can hook into an RV’s power system directly.
