Recessed LED Light Ø80 mm (3 LED) – Waterproof, Red or Yellow Illumination

This small recessed LED light (Ø80 mm) is designed to provide subtle and dependable illumination for a variety of onboard applications. It features 3 high-quality LEDs sealed in a waterproof housing – an ideal solution for lighting steps, floor compartments, cabinets, or toe-kick areas in the cabin. Flush-mount installation allows the fixture to sit nearly flush with the surface, with only an attractive trim (80 mm diameter, protruding 25.8 mm) visible. The required cut-out is Ø50 mm with an installation depth of about 14 mm, making it feasible to install even in thin panels or furniture.

The construction is resistant to moisture and splashes (IP65 rating), which means this lamp can be used in semi-exposed cockpit areas under a cover or in the bathroom/shower compartment of the boat. The white plastic bezel and frosted lens diffuse the light evenly and blend unobtrusively with most interiors. With a total consumption of just 0.22 W, these lights put virtually no strain on your electrical system – you can leave several on through the night for guidance without worrying about battery drain.

The manufacturer offers two versions of this model differentiated by light color: red and yellow (warm white). The red LED is especially useful at night – it has minimal impact on the crew’s night vision, making it ideal for cockpit courtesy lighting or instrument panel backlighting during night cruising. The yellow variant emits a soft warm glow (similar to amber or warm white) that adds coziness to cabins or passageways and is gentle on the eyes.

Use Cases & Recommendations:

• Step and Floor Lighting: Install these lights on each companionway step or along the floor of passageways to prevent tripping and aid navigation in the dark. The red light is excellent here because it won’t blind or disorient you at night.
• Night Light in Cabins: A single yellow LED light installed low on a wall or near the floor can serve as a night light in sleeping quarters – providing just enough illumination to orient yourself without disturbing sleep.
• Instrument and Chart Area: Mount the red variant near the navigation station or compass. It will give you a gentle glow on the controls and charts without ruining your night vision when working with maps or electronics.
• Accent Lighting in Saloon: Use the yellow lights to outline furniture edges or under seating in the saloon for a warm ambient effect. In campers and RVs, they can similarly illuminate floor areas or cabinets for a cozy atmosphere.
