This connector is the key component that turns individual single fender holders into a unified system. If you have two or more holders (from the 03669 series) mounted along the same rail, this linking bracket lets you attach them together in a “side-by-side” arrangement. The result mimics a factory-made double or triple fender rack – your fenders stay evenly spaced and the overall structure becomes much more stable in sea conditions.
The connector is a flat stainless steel plate with strategically placed holes, which is bolted to adjacent holders. The AISI 316 material ensures the connector can withstand the harsh marine environment as well as the stress of supporting multiple heavy fenders at once. Installation is flexible: you can use one connector between two holders to form a double rack, or use two connectors (one near the top, one near the bottom) to rigidly link three holders together. The connector typically comes with the necessary screws/nuts for fastening.
Advantages of using the connector:
- Safety & Convenience: Instead of each holder moving and vibrating on its own, holders joined by the connector reinforce each other. This means less bouncing of fenders in waves and less noise from individual holders rattling.
- Neat Appearance: When holders are linked in parallel, your fenders are aligned evenly and symmetrically – giving a professional, tidy look to your rail loaded with fenders.
- Modularity: You can start with a pair of holders and one connector. If you later add a third holder, simply add another connector to integrate all three. The system allows reconfiguration as needed.
- Easy Removal: If you want to remove the holders (e.g., off-season or to transfer to another boat), the connector can be quickly unbolted, after which each holder can come off individually. There’s no complex process – just undo a few screws.
The connector’s dimensions are compact, so once installed it’s barely noticeable – the focus remains on the polished look of the holders and the neatly stored fenders. It’s a small but incredibly useful piece that completes your fender storage system.
