This 8.5 mm male fuel connector is designed to fit Mercury, Mariner, and Yamaha outboards that use the modern quick-connect fuel fittings. It installs on the engine’s fuel inlet (often an external fitting on the fuel pump assembly) and provides a secure interface for the fuel hose equipped with the matching female connector. The connector locks in place via a spring clip mechanism – when you push on the female connector, you’ll hear a distinct click, ensuring the connection is latched and secure.
