The four-way fuel selector valve is designed for boats with up to three tanks feeding a single engine. It allows the operator to easily switch between three fuel sources – useful for larger boats requiring extended range or vessels utilizing extra reserve tanks. The valve is designed for 6.35 mm fuel hoses, corresponding to standard fuel line sizes.
The valve has three inlets (Tank 1, Tank 2, Tank 3) and one outlet to the engine. At any given time, only one inlet is open – the selected one – while the other two are closed. Switching tanks is accomplished by turning the lever/knob to the corresponding position. The mechanism has four fixed settings (three active tank selections plus potentially one overall "off" position), which click distinctly into place and can be labeled for convenience.
As with the two-tank model, the brass body provides reliability and corrosion resistance. The full-bore passage ensures the engine receives the necessary fuel flow from whichever tank is selected, without loss. When installed properly, this valve allows quick action when switching fuel – for example, during long passages or when making an emergency change to a reserve tank.
- Tri-Tank Systems: Indispensable for boats equipped with three fuel tanks – e.g., two mains plus one reserve, or three tanks positioned for balance. Simplifies fuel management among them without complex procedures.
- Reserve Fuel: Enables an extra reserve tank to be connected but kept off until needed, without complicated hose rearrangements.
- Commercial Vessels: Suitable for professional boats (fishing, workboats) where having multiple fuel tanks increases safety and autonomy during long operations.
- Safety: Eliminates back-flow or mixing between tanks; reduces the risk of unexpected fuel depletion by allowing easy switching and monitoring of individual tank levels.
With this 4-way fuel valve, you gain complete control over a three-tank fuel system – ensuring peace of mind and flexibility on long voyages and in varied conditions.
