More Thrust for Small Boats: The 5HP output provides noticeably stronger acceleration and a higher top speed compared to a 4HP model. This is beneficial if your boat is a bit heavier or if you frequently carry multiple passengers and gear. The F5 can better propel small ribs or jon boats loaded for fishing or family outings.
Sail Power Option: Mercury offers an optional Sail Power version of the F5, specially configured for sailboats.
