The Suzuki DF15A sets a benchmark in the 15 HP class as one of the first outboards in this category with a battery-less EFI system. This advanced 4-stroke 15HP engine (327cc, 2-cylinder) offers boaters a rare combination of high output and torque in a truly portable package, along with the easy starts and responsive throttle that EFI provides. The DF15A is built for boaters needing a reliable workhorse for their small to mid-sized boats – such as aluminum fishing skiffs, rigid inflatables (RIBs), or heavy dinghies – while keeping weight and maintenance to a minimum.

At roughly 45 kg, the DF15A is impressively light for a 15HP EFI outboard, thanks to Suzuki’s focus on weight reduction and smart engineering. It features Suzuki’s Lean Burn technology, constantly adjusting the fuel mixture to conditions and achieving exceptional fuel economy at all throttle ranges. This means at cruising speed the DF15A can significantly out-sip older carbureted 15HP engines, allowing longer trips and less fuel to carry on board.

In terms of performance, the DF15A shines with punchy acceleration and a strong top speed. Its large 327cc displacement provides plenty of low- and mid-range torque, yet the engine revs freely to deliver good speed on light hulls. Many users find this motor can easily plane a loaded 3.5–4 m boat.
