Keel Roller 190 x 95 mm (21 mm bore) – Blue or White

Code:
01513-W

Large keel roller for trailers, measuring 190 x 95 mm with a 21 mm bore, available in blue or white. This elastic roller supports the weight of larger boats, making it easier to load and launch them from the trailer. Made of impact-resistant, UV-stable rubber (polyurethane), it protects the keel and hull from damage and won’t leave marks (especially the white version).

  • Dimensions: 190 mm length, Ø95 mm diameter – provides a broad support surface for the keels of medium and large boats
  • Axle diameter: Ø21 mm – designed to fit thick shafts (standard on heavy-duty trailers)
  • Material: Resilient, tough polyurethane rubber – won’t permanently deform under load, absorbs vibrations and shocks
  • Colors: Blue (excellent UV resistance, stylish look) or White (non-marking, won’t stain the boat’s hull)
  • Use case: Suitable for medium to larger boats (around 5–7+ m in length) – ensures smooth sliding and proper centering of heavy boats on the trailer

This large keel roller (190 mm x 95 mm) is intended for trailers carrying heavier boats, where standard small rollers might not withstand the load or could make sliding difficult. With a diameter of 95 mm, the roller offers a greater contact area with the keel – this reduces pressure points and allows it to turn more easily even under significant weight. The 190 mm length means the roller spans a good portion of the keel line, providing stability as the boat is loaded. The central bore is Ø21 mm, which is typical for heavy-duty trailers: such rollers are usually mounted on hefty 20–21 mm diameter shafts to ensure strength.

The roller’s material is high-quality polyurethane (or similar elastomer), combining the advantages of rubber (flexibility, grip) and plastic (hardness, durability). It won’t crack or crumble under impact or prolonged stress. Even with a heavy boat resting on it, the material will spring back to shape and continue rolling smoothly. The blue version of the roller is colored with UV-stable pigments – so the color remains vibrant and the material retains its properties under sunlight. The white version, on the other hand, is favored for high-end or light-colored hulls because it absolutely does not leave marks or rub-off on gelcoat/paint, even under friction.

Usage recommendations and compatibility:

  • Recommended boat size: This roller is suitable for boats roughly in the 5 to 7.5 meter range (or about 1,000–2,500 kg). For example, large RIBs, powerboats, or smaller motor yachts will benefit from the greater support area of this roller. If your boat is smaller, you might opt for a smaller roller; if it’s larger/heavier (8+ m), you may need even bigger rollers or additional support systems.
  • Installation: Ensure your trailer’s shafts are 21 mm in diameter or have the appropriate bushings. The roller should spin freely on the axle – when installing, add a bit of grease for smoother rotation and to protect the shaft from rust.
  • Mixing colors: There is no functional difference between the blue and white models aside from aesthetics and marking behavior. Some users choose to put blue rollers at the rear (where the boat first contacts and UV exposure is highest) and white at the front to avoid marks on the bow – it comes down to personal preference.
  • Maintenance: Periodically clean the rollers of any stuck sand or marine organisms, as those could scratch the hull during movement. Check that the roller turns easily – if not, see if the shaft is bent or corroded. The roller itself requires no special maintenance, but when it wears out (after years of use) it can be easily replaced with a new one of the same dimensions.
  • Safety: Always use a sufficient number of rollers along the trailer to distribute the weight of the boat. This large roller can bear the main load, but for best results, combine it with additional supporting rollers or bunks so the boat’s hull is evenly supported during transport.
